First Expressway in Western Guangdong Operational
An new expressway opened to traffic Thursday in south China's
Guangdong
Province.
The expressway, which links up Maoming and Zhangjiang cities, is the first in the western part of the province.
The expressway will not only help accelerate economic development in western Guangdong but also provide easy access to
Hainan
Province and
Guangxi
Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The expressway starts from Poxin Township in Maoming City and terminates at Huanglue Township in Zhanjiang with a total length of 82.3 km. Construction of the four-lane expressway cost 3.1 billion yuan.
