Netherlands Orchestra to Perform in Hong Kong
The international renowned Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra together with German alto Birgit Remmert will bring Hong Kong music lovers a delightful evening at a concert to be held on February 11.
The concert is one of the highlights of the 2001 Hong Kong Arts Festival. Under the baton of the famous conductor Harmut Haenchen and accompanied by the Women's Chorus of the London Symphony Chorus and the Hong Kong Children's Singers, the Orchestra and the alto will perform Mahler's Symphony No. 3 in D Minor.
The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra is the resident orchestra of important music centers in the Netherlands including the Concertgebouw, the Muziektheatre and the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, and Muzielcentrum Vredenburg in Utrecht.
