Biggest South China Tiger Breed Fostered in SuzhouYears' effort has made Suzhou Zoo home to the world's largest South China Tiger breed of 8 males and 6 females.South China Tiger tops the list of the world's ten most endangered fauna species, with only 47 found throughout the world but can hardly be seen in the wilderness. The year 1983 saw a breakthrough in artificial propagation of the Tiger on breeding grounds. During the following 17 years, 60 cubs were born but with only 25 survived, of which 16 were kept in other zoos, registering the largest number of South China tigers having been fostered under artificial environment in China.
