Millenary Calligraphy Exhibition Held in BeijingCosponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art (CFLAC), the Palace Museum, and the Chinese Calligraphers' Association, December 26 saw the Millenary Calligraphy Exhibition being held in the Forbidden City and the Chinese Art Gallery and it will last to January 3 next year.On display at the exhibition are over 80 pieces of treasured calligraphies handed down from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, over 200 calligraphy works from overseas and more than 600 prize-winning handwritings in China. This is the first exhibition in the Forbidden City to show over 80 handwriting treasures of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Over 30 authentic handwriting works of Song and Yuan dynasties are displayed in the Palace Museum because the cultural relics of the two dynasties are prohibited from being taken out of the Forbidden City according to the relevant laws.
