Prints on ShowMore than 400 pieces of print work from over 40 countries will be on show in Beijing from December 27 to January 10, in the largest ever exhibition of its kind in China.The prints are of a variety of types including paper, wood, stone, and copper, and their makers are from a variety of countries including China, Japan, Italy, and Russia. Through a diversity of styles and unique printing techniques, these works create a modern print collection representing the trends in the art. According to experts, China's print art is of an international standard, and communication and integration with world print circles has greatly stimulated a combination of tradition with the modern during the 20th century. This exhibition, jointly organized by the Qingdao Municipal People's Government, the China International Exhibition Agency, and the Chinese Printmaker Society, has provided another good opportunity for more integration. Organizers also expect that the show, just in time for the New Year season, will add luster to the festivity of the capital, which is determined to build itself into a world cultural center. |
