2nd Three Gorges Dragon Boat Race to Be Held

Jointly organized by the Sports Administration of China, China Tourism Bureau and the provincial government of Hubei, the 2nd Three Gorges International Dragon Boat Race is to be held on April 27 coming year in Xiling Gorge, Yichang City, Hubei Province.

A contest to be launched over a distance of the longest, with the longest of time to be used, the race falls into two logs. Starting from Quyuan Temple in Zigui to Maoping Port in the vicinity of the construction site of Three Gorges Dam, it ends at the famous Gezhou Dam. Over a distance of as many as 76 kilometers, the race will take seven hours.

It is told that that the boat race will attract some 800 contestants from 20 contesting parties around the world.
