Centenary Bell Built in Tianjin

Known as "Century Bell", built to count down the coming new millennium, the bell has been lately erected at the bridgehead of Jiefang (Liberation) Bridge in Tianjin.

"Century Bell" is an identifying marker in unique structure formed of three parts, bell body, pendulum and the base. A new centenary marker landmarking Tianjin's history and future development, the bell, standing 40 meters high, has a weight of 170 tons, being the largest and heaviest of bells known so far in China.
