China Telecom Boosts Bandwidth
China Telecom will boost bandwidth for the third time in company history, company officials said. Bandwidth is expected to exceed 800G after expandation. New features will be available from January 2001.
According to China Telecom, the improvement aims at speeding up major networks. Export bandwidth will be increased from 371 MB to 3.3G.
The expansion will help China Telecom offer better internet services to medium and small businesses.
Currently China has more than 16.9 million Internet users, with an increase of 200 per cent each year.
