Indonesian Vice President Orders crackdown on Church Bombers
Indonesia
n Vice President Megawati Soekarnoputri has ordered the police to crack down on the perpetrators of the Christmas Eve bombing of churches in six cities in the country, which killed at least 14 people and injured 95 others.
"They (culprits) must be revealed," Antara news agency Wednesday quoted Megawati as saying during a meeting with members of the Indonesian Peace Forum (FID) here on Tuesday.
Megawati said the bombings were purely criminal -- and not religious -- in nature, thus they should not spark anger among certain religions followers.
