World Foundation Donates on Chinese Cultural Relics

The World Cultural Relics Foundation has granted some 50,000 U.S. dollars recently to protect the Chenghuang Temple in Yuci district of north China's Shanxi Province.

It is China's only ancient building that has received aid from the foundation this year.

The temple was built during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and was renovated during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The 18-meter Xuanjian Pavilion in the temple area is considered more valuable because it represents the characteristics of architecture built during Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.

The Chenghuang Temple has been enlisted in the world's 100 cultural relics projects. The donation will be used to renovate the pavilion.
