Collected Works of Chairman Mao Zedong Published
Following the "Selected Works of Mao Zedong", another important documentary collection entitled "Collected Works of Mao Zedong" has recently come off the press. Experts and academicians praise highly of this anthology, saying it has provided new materials and documentary background for a better understanding of the rich contents of Mao Zedong Thought and the course of its development.
Authorized by the CPC Central Committee, the collection has been compiled by the Party Literature Research Center of the CPC Central Committee and published by the People's Publishing House. The collection, comprising of 803 important articles dated from 1921 to 1976 in exception of volumes 1-4 of Selected Works of Mao Zedong, is bound into eight volumes with a total of 2.3 million words.
As a great Marxist, revolutionist, strategist and theorist, the late Chairman Mao Zedong wrote a great many articles and made a lot of speeches and talks in his lifetime. Compiled in the Selected Works of Mao Zedong are some of Mao's representative articles written before the founding of the New China yet still many of his important articles, talks and memos are left out or even not publicly released. The publication of the Collected Works of Mao Zedong has offered important supplements to the Selected Works of Mao Zedong.
