First Expressway in East Sichuan Open to Traffic

The Luojiang-Dazhu section of the first expressway, part of the Dazhou-Chongqing Expressway in the east of Sichuan Province, was opened to traffic.

Dazhou City located at the junction of Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hubei and Chongqing used to be part of the hinterland in the Sichuan-Shaanxi Revolutionary Base Area. The section of expressway from Daxian County of Dazhou City to Dazhu is 77.4 km long with an investment of 1.75 billion yuan. As the expressway wriggles in mountain areas, so built along it were a total of 122 bridges, 419 culverts and 57 overpasses and underpasses as well. Thanks to the dedication and hardworking spirit of the people in this area and the modernized management in the past three years, the expressway now turns out the best one in Sichuan, featuring a way of high-quality, low investment and high-speed.

The 220-km-long Dazhou-Chongqing Expressway is a trunk road connecting Sichuan Province with Chongqing Municipality. Built and managed by the Sichuan Dazhou-Chongqing Expressway Construction and Development Co. Ltd. it is one of the highway construction projects in Sichuan under BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer).
