Tsinghua Denies Listing Large Number of Enterprises in GEM

There won't be any such comprehensive high-tech companies as THTF and Tsinghua Unisplendour Co., Ltd. to be listed as from now on. However, this doesn't refer to Tsinghua-concept companies with independent technological know-how and promising market perspectives, said a responsible person of the listed Tsinghua Tongfang Co., Ltd. (THTF).

He made the remarks when dealing with the recent rumor that about 20 Tsinghua University - based enterprises would be listed in the Growth Enterprises Market (GEM), thus making the fact clarified.

He said that these companies can just list their single business operation separated and reformed, projects incubated mature and items not conflicting with the main business operation of the companies, and such operation of listing will be carried out under restrict control and cautious argumentation.

This year, THTF has accomplished the division of artificial environmental engineering, chemical industry and nuclear technology industry. Next year will see the stress to be laid on information industry by pouring into it the capital recently raised through issuing an additional 20 billion A-shares. In addition, it will also strengthen its capital reorganization and annexation in information industry.

As to why the Tongfang CD Co. failed to be listed in the GEM of Hong Kong, Lu Zhicheng, president of THTF, claimed that the company is now shifting its business from manufacturing hardware like DVD players to software like academic periodical databanks. And moreover the GEM of Hong Kong is of late not in the booming, so the company has slowed down its pace of listing.
