20 Agencies Authorized to Send Personnel for Overseas Training

Twenty Chinese agencies were authorized Monday to send personnel to receive training overseas.

The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, authorized by the State Council, granted certificates at a ceremony Monday in Beijing to the agencies, which deal with science, agriculture, urban planning, health care, information, advertising and other fields.

The administration's deputy director, Yang Hanyan, said that granting of such certificates is an important anti-corruption practice.

Yang said that this will also be conducive to the work of sending professionals to study state-of-the-art technology and sound management in foreign countries.

The administration has sent more than 30,000 professionals to study techniques and management overseas in thousands of programs, he said.

The trainees have made great contributions to the development of agriculture, industry, and the service sector in China, the official added.

At the same time, the vice director said that unauthorized agencies can not organize people to attend any training courses overseas on government expenses, otherwise they will be punished.
