Electric Power Goes Directly from Three Gorges to Guangdong

The China Power Investment Corporation recently examined and approved the feasibility report of the power transmission project from the Three Gorges (central China) to Guangdong Province.

This is a key project newly added to the planned for transmitting 10 million kw of electricity to Guangdong Province by the end of the 10th Five-year Period.

Starting from Jingzhou, Hubei Province, the project will, extend all the way, totaling 975 km to Huizhou, Guangdong Province.

It is planed to go into monopole operation next February and June will see it fully operated with the voltage on each pole to reach 500KV and the total transmitting capacity amounting to 3 million Kw.

The rapid, stable and lasting economic growth in Guangdong has resulted in sharp demands for electricity supply, while the central China has more than enough and to spare before 2005 and it's natural to for it to send the surplus to Guangdong.

The Three Gorges (Central China) - Guangdong project will link the networks for power transmission in central and South China, thus benefiting both ends in power transmission and network efficiency.

In addition, the China Power Investment Corporation also approved another feasibility report of the power transmission project from Guizhou to Guangdong Province.
