SAIC: China to Regulate Market Dealings Next Year

Wang Zhongfu, director of the State Administration of Industry and Commerce (SAIC) revealed December 21 that the country's administrative organs of industry and commerce will make efforts to rectify and regulate market dealings and at the same time carry out special law-executing actions against restricted competition.

Wang made the remarks at the National Working Conference on Industry and Commerce Administration held December 21. He said that next year will see the rectifying work by the administrative organs of industry and commerce concentrate on six aspects against illegal dealings, such as contract fraud, smuggling and goods trafficking and illicit brokers.

And next April will witness SAIC launch special law-executing actions against restricted competition in power-supply, insurance, railway, post services, commercial banks and other monopolizing industries that hold dominant statuses in market and feature strong restricted competition, said the official.

Besides, it will strengthen supervision over the abuse of ascendancy, forced dealings and other forms of restricted competition by operators in water, electricity, heat and gas supply as well as in post, telecom and other public utilities.
