China Beats Japan to Reign Asian Youth Women's Basketball Title

China had little trouble to stamp their domination in the Asian Youth Women's Basketball

Championship as they beat Japan 78-59 on Friday for their third-straight title in the event here.

The victory is also China's eighth time in the final of the biannual championship, which was set up in 1970.

Relying on their strength and height, the Chinese girls set the pace of the game with solid defence and easily controled the board.

After leading 44-35 in the first half, China left no space for scoring to their opponents and cruised to a big-margin win.

In the 3rd-4th places match, South Korea came back from a first-half deficit to defeat the Chinese Taipei team 67-64 to win the third place.
