Site of Ancient Village Unearthed in ChinaThe site of an ancient Chinese village from the Western Zhou Dynasty (approximately 11th Century B.C.-- 771 B.C.) was recently unearthed in Lu'an, Anhui Province.In addition to the remains of human beings and animals, more than 1,000 intact relics so far have been excavated, which include stone knives, stone adzes, bronze arrowheads and swords. This site is of great help to the study of the environmental evolution near the watershed of the Yangtze River and Huaihe River, where the village was located. It also provides rich information for the study of the fusion of the southern and northern cultures in China, according to archaeologists. |
