Reception Marks Anniversary of Chinese-African People's Friendship AssociationThe Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) held a reception Friday evening, marking the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese-African People's Friendship Association.CPAFFC President Chen Haosu spoke highly of the efforts made by the Chinese-African People's Friendship Association to promote Sino-African friendship. He said that the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, which was held in Beijing two months ago, defined the direction for Sino-African cooperation in the years ahead. The Chinese-African People's Friendship Association has so far established links with their counterparts in more than 20 African countries. It has also played a role in establishing 42 pairs of sister-city relationships. Yang Fuchang, new president of the Chinese-African People's Friendship Association, said at the occasion that his organization will try its best to promote friendship between the Chinese and African peoples in the new century. Among those present at the reception were senior Chinese officials from relevant departments and diplomatic envoys from about 40 African countries.
