North China Zoo to Auction Animal Adoption Right

The city Zoo of Taiyuan is planning to auction the adoption rights of its animals for funding.

The animals waiting to be adopted include those species under protection such as Manchurian Tiger, zebra, leopard and peacock.

Individuals, companies and institutions are welcomed to join the bidding to win the honor of advertising their names on the board outside the animal's house as a patron of the animal, according to the zoo sources.

Those who adopt the animals can enjoy such special honors as the right to know the health, living conditions and the menu of their animals within a contracted term.

The zoo has received enthusiastic responses to the bidding.
