Computer,Top Option of Wuhan FamiliesComputers and air-conditioners have become the first option of families in purchasing big-ticket items in this capital of central China's Hubei Province.Computers are the top option, according to a survey conducted by the Hubei Provincial Statistics Bureau recently. The demand of every 100 families for durable consumer goods over the next few years will be 46 computers and 36 air-conditioners, followed by color TV sets and washing machines. The survey also shows that by the end of November, every 100 families owned 125.8 color TV sets, 105.8 refrigerators and 100.6 washing machines. Meanwhile, nearly 86 percent families had air-conditioners, 43 percent owned VCD players, 16 percent had personal computers and roughly 16 percent had mobile phones. |
