Kazakh President Appoints New Government Officials

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev issued an order Wednesday, December 20, to appoint Uraz Dzhandosov Deputy Prime Minister and appoint Bulat Iskakove Minister of the Interior.

Meanwhile, Nazarbayev discharged former Deputy Prime Minister Erzhan Utembayev and former Minister of the Interior Kairbek Suleimenov.

Dzhandosov will replace Utembayev to take the charge of economic and financial affairs, according to the presidential order. The order did not specify what post Utembayev will hold.

Nazarbayev appointed Suleimenov the new first deputy minister of the interior.

Dzhandosov was the first Prime Minister in the former government. Iskakove was a former military commander.
