BOBICO to Solicit Volunteer Translators
To Solicit volunteer translators for Beijing's 2008 Olympic bid, an activity in this regard was held on December 20, by BOBICO (Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bid Committee).
The activity is to encourage those who are good at certain foreign languages to make down-to-earth contributions to Beijing's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. Any one proficient in certain foreign language is encouraged to take up the job as volunteer translators, regardless of age, language, profession and sex.
Volunteers may engage in relevant translation work, participate in the work of Beijing Universiade to be held next summer, or help athletes and Beijing citizen to learn foreign languages whenever they are free.
Any one who volunteers is expected to sign up their names through www.beijing-2008.org, the official website, or www.beijing.com.cn/td, the volunteer website or by telephone 010-62025892.
Jiang Xiaoyu, vice chairman of BOBICO attended the launching ceremony of the above volunteer website.
Volunteer contests of online translation and interpretation will also be organized by the host.
