Taiwan Firm Develops Herbal Medicine for AIDS
A Taiwan firm recently developed a traditional herbal-made drug called "Genic," which the company says may be effective for controlling AIDS, according to the Taiwan local media.
The company , Genic Biotech Co. Ltd, is waiting for the approval of the health authorities for approval to start clinical trials at Taipei's Veterans General Hospital, the company spokesman said.
In addition, the company said they are working with the internationally-acclaimed AIDS researcher Dr. David Ho.
The company said Ho was impressed with the results of tests of the drug on mice and had agreed to cooperate with human testing of the drug at his AIDS research center of Rockefeller University in New York.
