Electronic Information Product to Value 1,300 Billion Yuan Next Year

China's electronic information products will still witness a sound development with a foreseeable market value of about 1,300 billion-yuan in 2001.

However, it might be slightly affected by the macroeconomic situation, the advancement in IT industry and the marketization process of electronic information, according to Li Zhiming from the Ministry of Information Industry.

The growth rate of some much-sought-for products, such as mobile communications, software, microelectronics and network products will remain at 35 to 40 percent, which will turn out to be a major force for boosting the whole industry. Meanwhile, the growth rate of basic products will stay at 20 to 25 percent and the consuming products will see a smooth rise of 10-15 percent.
