China to Launch First TV Industry Conglomerate
Approved by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, Hunan Radio, Film and Television Group (HRFTG) will be set up on December 28 as the bellwether in China.
The Television and Radio Medium Company, a subsidiary of the HARFT, got listed last year and successfully raised a fund of $2 billion yuan.
HARFT has by now got an asset of over 3bn yuan from former 400m in 1993.
According to HARFT, Hunan will make a reshuffle of its radio, film and television industry to build Hunan's satellite TV "armada" at the service of Chinese language speakers throughout the world.
