Liang Sicheng Architecture Prize Set upDecember 18 saw Liang Sicheng Architecture Prize (LSAP) set up at the conference of National Work Meeting for Design and Perambulation. It is named after the late master architect Liang Sicheng to honor those who had made great contributions to China's architecture design, and the First nine prize-winners have been awarded prix of 100 thousand yuan for each.The first batch of announced prizes went to Qi Kang, designer of Memorial for Nanjing Massacre Victims, Mo Bozhi, of the White Swan Hotel in Guangzhou, Zhao Dongri, engineer of programming Tian'anmen Square, Guan Zhaoye, designer of the New Library of Tsinghua University, Wei Dunshan, designer of Shanghai Stadium, Zhang Kaiji, designer of National Museum of Revolution and History, Zhang Jingqiu, that of Shannxi Museum, He Jingtang, that for Museum of Tomb of Nanyue King (of Western Han Dynasty ), and Wu Liangyong, designer of the new quadrangles in Ju'er Lane of Beijing. As reported, LSAP will thenceforth be assessed and granted annually to no more than one person in principle. Meanwhile, the third batch of 60 masters devoted to design and perambulation have been honored at the conference by Ministry of Construction.
