China Cuts Prices for Gasoline, Diesel Oil

The prices for gasoline and diesel oil in China will be reduced by 20 yuan and 300 yuan per ton, respectively, as of December 20, according to a notice issued by the State Development Planning Commission.

The notice asks major oil suppliers in the country to make efforts to ensure abundant market supply and demands that oil dealers nationwide strictly comply with the stipulated prices.

The notice also asks local governments and pricing departments to tighten control over gasoline and diesel oil prices and deal harshly with any violations.

The decision to cut the prices was made in line with the change of oil prices in the international market.
