Vietnam Publicizes Tourism in China

A delegation, consisting of 25 major travel agencies from Vietnam, recently held a series of tourism promotion activities in China's Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in order to attract more Chinese visitors.

"China has long been and will continue to be the largest source of tourism for Vietnam," said Vu The Binh, a tourism official of Vietnam.

According to the official, airline companies in Vietnam plan to set up offices in Beijing or Shanghai next May, and will conduct direct flights to Beijing and Shanghai by the end of next year.

At present, most Chinese tourists come to Vietnam by rail or automobile.

So far this year, Vietnam has received about 500,000 Chinese tourists, while five years ago, the figure was only 62,000.

According to an agreement reached by tourism administrations on both sides, Vietnam has officially become one of the popular destinations for Chinese citizens since the beginning of this month.
