Central Grain Reserves Closely Vertically Watched

May 18 saw the founding of China Grain Reserves Corporation and from the top down 14 subsidiaries have since been established and formed into a vertical national administrative setup to operate on behalf of the central authorities and ensure the country's grain reserves be closely watched and well kept.

As things stand in China, under the China Grain Reserves Corporation is a highly operational three-level management system from head office to subsidiaries' offices and grain depots down below responsible for the central authorities.

Operating with its 14 operational subsidiaries' setup the Corporation has by now entirely taken over all the managerial work in regards to keeping and protection of central reserve grain supplies.

New grain reserves have been well stored in 2,800-odd new large depots built with a total storage capacity of 25bn kg. Though there was a cut in the number of depots from over 10,000 in the past a better distribution of grain reserves has been achieved in China.
