China Introducing Sewage Treatment Technology from ROKA new form of industrial and urban sanitary sewage treatment technology developed by Republic of Korea (ROK) has recently been introduced to China and will be popularized. The China Environment Science Society and HANA Co. Ltd. of ROK jointly introduced the advanced molecule-decomposition technology (AMT) in Beijing Monday. Qu Geping, chairman of the Environment and Resources Protection Committee (ERPC) under the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said that China will face pressing water problems in the 21st century. Almost all the rivers near large cities in China have been seriously polluted. China needs international support on the technology for wastewater treatment, said Qu, the introduction of AMT from ROK will offer China a new choice. "If it is proven suitable for China, the technology will be promoted and will help solve China's water problem." The per capita amount of fresh water in China is only one quarter of the world average, said Ye Ruqiu, acting chairman of the China Environment Science Society. China will continue to develop new technology for the treatment of industrial and urban wastewater. Experts say the AMT, developed and improved by HANA Co. Ltd. for 20 years can be used for the treatment of sewage from coal carbonization, dye, pharmaceuticals, oil refining industries and urban sanitary wastewater. |
