Vietnamese President to Visit China
President Tran Duc Luong of the Socialist Republic of
Vietnam
will pay an official goodwill visit to China on December 25-29 at the invitation of Chinese President
Jiang Zemin
.
This was announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhang Qiyue at a regular press conference Tuesday, December 19.
Zhang said this is the first visit by President Tran Duc Luong to China since he assumed office.
During the visit, the leaders of China and Vietnam will exchange views on strengthening good-neighborly friendly relations and all-round cooperation between the two countries and other issues of common interest, Zhang said.
She added that the two sides will also issue a joint statement on all-round cooperation in the new century and other documents.
