China to Harness Key Polluted Water Projects

Sources close to the State Administration of Environmental Protection say that decisions have been made by concerned departments in China to harness key polluted water projects for a marked raise of water quality countrywide in the coming five years.

It is told that pivotal to the harnessing of China's key polluted water projects are the reservoir areas of the Three Gorges on the Yangtze River, areas on the upper reaches of the Yangtze, Xiaolangdi, and areas on the upper reaches of the Yellow River, according to a decision made.

Water protection plans will also be strictly put into force in areas along the Yangtze and Yellow rivers in the coming five years.

Still, other projects like construction and protection of ecosystems in Sichuan Province, control of water pollution and soil erosion in Chongqing Municipality, Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces and Ningxia Hui and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regions will be equally stressed.

Efforts will also be made to straighten out things on pollution on the lake of Dianchi, Kunming, Yunnan Province.
