Penalties Passed on 6 Culprits Bribing Hu Changqing

Three People's Courts in the Donghu, Xihu and Qingyupu districts of Jiangxi Province held hearings simultaneously December 18 morning, in which first-instance judgements were made of 5 criminal cases against 6 culprits bribing big grafter and embezzler Hu Chaagqing, former deputy governor of the said province.

The six entrepreneurs were given imprisonments ranging from six months to three years for being guilty of offering bribes to Hu Changqing.

Hu was given the death sentence by a local court in February for accepting more than five million yuan of bribes between 1995 and 1999.

Up to now, first-instance sentence has been given to 6 out of 8 bribery cases involving Hu Changqing.
