China Awards Ten Outstanding Youths

The Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) awarded 10 young Chinese people for their outstanding achievements in their own professions Monday in this municipality of north China.

Yu Guo, a handicapped young man, who established a non-government run college in east China's Jiangxi Province, and Fu Mingxia, an Olympic golden medal winner, are among those awarded. Other winners include scientists, entrepreneurs, and TV host.

A CYLC official said that they deserved the honor because of their devotion to scientific research and great contributions to the country.
