Largest Skiing Ground in Xingjiang to Open

The Tianshan International Ski Course in China's northwest Xingjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will begin to receive ski fans from China and other countries later this month.

The ground, located in the southern suburbs of the regional capital of Urumqi, covers an area of 24.75 square kilometers and involved a total investment of 100 million yuan.

With quality snow and a short distance to the city of Urumqi, the ground is suitable for becoming the first-rate skiing ground in Asia. It began to be built in May of 1999. It currently has seven cableways and ten skiing courses.
