Vice-Premier Attends Orchestra Concert
Vice-Premier Li Lanqing attended the first concert by the Chinese Philharmonic Orchestra at the Poly Theater in Beijing on Saturday night.

The concert, conducted by Yu Long, featured the most outstanding music pieces composed by Chinese and foreign musicians, including the "Braving Wind" by Guo Wenjing and a famous opera sinfonia by Wagner.

Among the senior officials attending the concert were members of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee Ding Guangen and Jia Qinglin as well as Wu Yi, Wu Jieping, He Luli and Xujialu. Some 1,000 people presented at the concert to enjoy the performance by the orchestra, which was set up in May this year by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.
