S.Korean President, US President-elect to Meet Soon
South Korean President Kim Dae- jung and US President-elect George W. Bush have agreed to meet in near future to discuss issues on the relations between the two countries and cooperation in policies toward Pyongyang.
"Kim and Bush spoke by phone Saturday morning and agreed to keep the current close cooperation between Seoul and Washington in the fields of diplomacy, national security and economy on track," South Korean presidential spokesman Park Joon-young said Saturday.
The two leaders also pledged to exchange opinions on South Korean-US relations and the policies toward to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Park said.
Kim also congratulated Bush on his victory in the election once again and expressed his wish that the present cooperation among South Korea, the United States and the DPRK will continue in the future.
