Int'l Websites Fair Opens in Shanghai

The first Shanghai International Websites Fair opened Friday in Shanghai.

Five prestigious websites respectively sponsored by Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, China Daily, China Radio International, and China Internet Information Center, appeared shoulder to shoulder for the first time at the fair.

Some well-known Chinese websites, such as China.com, netease, 8848, etang, and eachnet, also participated in the fair.

The fair's aim was to promote the development of Internet technology, attract venture capital, and cultivate the imagination of the business.

The development of information technology and the Internet has created an unprecedented channel for communication beyond the limitations of time and space.

Large Chinese websites, which appeared like mushrooms after the rain, are facing a future of competition and mutual development.

The fair was organized by the Shanghai Computerization Office and the Municipal Information Office.

The three-day fair will present more than 50 lectures.
