China Commends Outstanding Security Guards and Companies

Ten outstanding security guards and ten security companies were commended here Friday by the Ministry of Public Security, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and Chinese Communist Youth League's (CCYL) Central Committee.

Minister of Public Security Jia Chunwang said at Friday's commendation ceremony that under the direction of public security departments, local security companies have provided security service to people, as well as having helped keep social order.

Jia also noted that though China's security guard service has made remarkable progress, security guards and companies still need to improve their service quality.

China now has nearly 1,400 security companies with over 300,000 security guards, following the emergence of the first security company in the country in 1984.

Wei Jianxing, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) attended today's commending ceremony.
