UN Chief Congratulates Bush on Election Victory
UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan Thursday, December 14, send a letter of congratulations to George W. Bush for his election as the United States president.
In the letter to Bush, Annan said, "Please accept my warmest congratulations and best wishes on your election to the presidency of the United States of America."
"Relations between the United States and the United Nations are on a firm footing, reflecting our mutual commitment to a stable, prosperous and equitable world," Annan said.
"We look forward to welcoming you to our common house, and I personally look forward to working with you and your administration," he added.
