First Broadband Information Community to Be Constructed

Shenzhen Overseas Chinese City Group and Shenzhen Telecom Bureau have lately signed an agreement to build in cooperation a digital "overseas city", a large-scaled demonstration community equipped with broadband information service facilities.

By jointly injecting 300 million yuan into the "city" construction, the two parties will cooperate in the following three aspects: First, according to the designing requirement of the "Digital Overseas City" to bring to finish within a period of three years the construction of a broadband network platform using mmhz optical fiber to cover an area of five square kilometers. Secondly, the "city" will be put into business operation according to the needs of the market economy and finally, under the principles of mutual benefits and interests, the two parties will jointly conduct commercial promotion for the construction of broadband networks in other communities.

The "city", as the first demonstration community with a broadband network supported by China Telecom, will be able to enjoy the service of 2.5 GBPS high broadband interactive network. By dint of that, people can enjoy fully online travel, online real estates transaction, online shopping and intellectualized community management, as well as online education and enterprise management.
