Vice-Premier Li lanqing on Financing Work

Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing called for gradually establishing a public finance framework which adapts to the situation of China and the socialist market economy.

Li expressed this in a letter to a national working conference on finance opened Wednesday in Beijing.

Li, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, stressed that China will strengthen revenue levying and management next year and fight against tax fraud and organized criminal syndicates.

He said that employees at administrative departments and institutions should get their salaries adequately as scheduled.

China will reform its managerial mechanism for financial expenditure and perfect taxation levy system next year, said the vice-premier.

He added that the fee-to-tax reform in rural areas should be promoted steadily and the financial burdens of farmers should be relieved.

Xiang Huaicheng, minister of Finance, delivered a speech at the meeting.
