Yugoslav President to Visit France

The Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica will pay a visit to France next week, said French government spokesman Jean-Jack Queyranne on Wednesday, December 13.

The spokesman did not provide details about the visit, but analysts said that international aid to Yugoslavia and Kosovo are expected to dominate the talks between Kostunica and the French politicians.

The visit will be the third time Kostunica has traveled to France since he came to power in October.

The two previous visits were made when Kostunica was invited to the European Union's informal summit in Biarritz on October 14 and the European Parliament in Strasbourg on October 15.

Meanwhile, France has accepted the Yugoslav nomination of its new ambassador to Paris, said the spokesman.

Radomir Diklic, former director of Yugoslavia's independent news agency Beta, was nominated Yugoslav ambassador to France.

Last month Belgrade resumed diplomatic relations with France, the United States, Britain and Germany, the four NATO countries which led the bombing campaign against Yugoslavia in March 1999.
