4 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Army in Gaza

Four Palestinians have been killed and dozens of others wounded early Wednesday in violent clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces in a refugee camp in southern Gaza Strip.

Three Palestinian policemen were killed by Israeli fires in the Khan Yunis refugee camp, witnesses said. Another Palestinian man was shot to death in later clashes in the area.

According to witnesses, Israeli tanks entered a zone which is under control of Yasser Arafat's Palestinian National Authority, destroying some houses and Palestinian police positions outside Khan Yunis.

The Palestinian police and security services fired back and gunfire erupted between the two sides, the witnesses said.

Although the Israeli tanks withdrew under Palestinian fire, artillery continued shooting.

The 11-week Palestinian-Israeli clashes have killed more than 300 people, most of them Palestinians, and wounded over 10,000 others since late September.
