Tibet to Attract More Foreign Investment

The Tibet Autonomous Region will provide more favorable policies for foreign businessmen, according to a senior regional government official.

Xu Mingyang, vice-chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Regional People's Government, made the remarks on Tuesday, December 12, in talks with Nepalese Consul General in Tibet, Shankar Prasad Pandey.

Xu noted that Nepalese enterprises and businessmen are welcome to Tibet to invest and do business.

The Chinese government places great importance on its trade relations with Nepal, and the increasing bilateral trade would help promote the economic development of their respective countries and friendship, Xu stated, adding that expanding border trade between the two countries complies with the aspiration of the two sides.

Pandey, who is here for border trade talks, said that the Nepalese government appreciates China's efforts to boost border trade.
