First E-Business Deal of Shanghai Steel Giant

The Baoshan Iron and Steel Company in Shanghai, one of China's leading steel companies, announced Tuesday, December 12, that the company had made its first E-business deal via the Internet.

Through the company's website, www. bsteel.com, two companies in Zhejiang Province and Shanghai reached an agreement to purchase 8,450 tons of alloy steel products at a value of 22 million yuan.

Launched in October this year, the company's website provides browsers a chance to conduct a variety of business activities, including negotiations, auctions and bidding.
