Jia Qinglin Meets with American Business Delegation

Jia Qinglin, secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, met December 12 with a business delegation of the NBI Chinese American Computer Association headed by Mark Shir.

Jia briefed the guests on the city's investment environment and economic development in recent years. He said that overseas businesses are welcomed to invest in high-tech projects.

Shir expressed interest in cooperating with Chinese high-tech enterprises. He said the delegation has visited the Beijing economic and technological development zone and the Zhongguancun area, China's Silicon Valley, to study the possibility of cooperative projects.

The association consists of more than 400 Taiwan-based high- tech enterprises in the United States.
