Fourth Inter-Korean Ministarial-Level Talks Held in Pyongyang

The fourth inter-Korean ministerial level talks began at Koryo hotel on Tuesday, December 12.

The South Korean delegation headed by Pak Jae-kyu, minister of the Unification Ministry of South Korea, arrived in the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) this morning.

During the four-day talks, the two sides will review the development of inter-Korean relations since the first historic summit in Pyongyang on June 13-15.

Four agreements, on prevention of double taxation, trade, investment guarantee and dispute settlement, are expected to be signed following the talks.

The two sides will also discuss the scheduled trip to Seoul by Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly.

They will also work together on letter exchanges between separated families.

Pyongyang and Seoul have held three rounds of ministerial level talks since last June, when a joint declaration was issued following the historic visit to the north by Kim Dae Jung, president of South Korea.
