China Philharmonic to Put on Premiere in Beijing Poly Theatre

China Philharmonic, a state-level symphony orchestra has drawn a worldwide attention since it was founded in last May. Y Long, an outstanding Chinese conductor was appointed as artistic director of the orchestra. As reported, it is going to give its first concert in Beijing Poly Theatre December.

So far China Philharmonic Orchestra is the first that has introduced advanced mode of management into China, and also attracted some superb foreign musicians to join. At present, the orchestra, being the biggest one in Asia, has 110 members, of which 13 came from other countries.

Earlier this year, China Philharmonic transcribed jointly with Deutsche Geologische Gesellschaft e.V. (DGG) two laser discs that will be presented in the premiere the coming sixteenth. This is the first cooperation between China's orchestra and DGG, known as the best record-making company of classic music in the world.

On the evening of the sixteenth, they will put on show many excellent pieces of music both Chinese and western classics, including Wagner's Overtrue of Tannhauser, Brams' G Minor Quartet, Bao Yuankai's Orchestra Suite, etc.
